Just a simplified 'deduction'. ( thought of it long ago).
If society is being 'bombarded', (or 'overfed') with (intentionally induced) subliminal and explicit e.g. sexual suggestive 'messages', 'ideas', by means of o.a. media; internet, tv, commercials, books, theatre etc. etc. ; there could be a, predictable, reaction of possible 'stimulation' of e.g. sexual behavior, or 'needs', just as well as a, predictable, counter-reaction of possible e.g. 'a-sexual' behavior; indifference etc. (Mere logic).
The same applies to many 'new' ideas etc. becoming trends, hypes, norms etc.etc. 'Strategies'....
